The Beginning of Sorrows
Matthew 24:4-8 And Jesus answered and said to them: “Take heed that no one deceives you. For many will come in My name, saying, ‘I am the Christ,’ and will deceive many. And you will hear of wars and rumors of wars. See that you are not troubled; for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. And there will be famines, pestilences, and earthquakes in various places. All these are the beginning of sorrows.”
The word “sorrows” means pangs, as in the birth pangs of a woman in labor, ready to give birth.
The deception, the wars and rumors of wars, the famines, pestilences, and earthquakes … these will happen with increasing frequency as labor pains increase during childbirth.
These are the words of Jesus, the Son of God. The “birth” that is about to happen is the end of the world as we know it, leading to Christ’s 2nd Coming. We don’t know when, but we can surely see the signs.
Are you ready?
