itisfinishedYesterday I delivered a message on Romans 5:1-11. The message was entitled “Reconciled.”

Reconciliation to God was and is a huge thing. Just to think of our former condition, without Christ … that we were enemies of God in our minds because of our wicked works … that we were without hope, and subject to God’s eternal wrath … well, it sends shivers down my spine.

Through the grace of God, and through justification by faith in the completed work of Jesus Christ at Calvary, we have been brought into an entirely new relationship with the Living God. Through Christ, we are no longer God’s enemies. The Father now loves us.

Yesterday’s message points out five effects, experiences, or conclusions relating to the fact that believers in Jesus Christ have been reconciled to God.

When believed and applied, these truths will radically change one’s life. Radically.

God bless you. I hope you’ll open your Bibles, find a quiet place and time, pull out paper and pen, and just let God speak to you. Stop the message as often as you need to. Pray the truth of God into your spirit. Allow the Holy Spirit to do His deep work within you.

Thanks for reading and listening.

Today, July 14, 2009, I saw on my calendar that on this day, a few years ago, well, perhaps more than a “few”, our Creator, Father God, our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, brought a baby boy in to this world, then in to His Kingdom, and today, this man, Pastor, friend, whose birthday we celebrate by thanking Father God for him, gave us a gift, even though it is his birthday.

Happy, glorious, God filled Birthday, Pastor Bill Holdridge, and thank you for the gift of the Romans teaching, which was further revelation knowledge of God’s grace to us…in new Holy Spirit administered ways…the Word doing what God intends, giving us more of all we need for life in Him: Godliness.

May the Lord be with you, may the Lord bless you, on this your birthday, and always, dear brother in Christ.

    Our Love,
    David and Peggy

How sweet of you two to remember my birthday! Thanks, you guys.

I got up this AM, hit the exercise trail at 6:00, the bones aching and the muscles sore. I ended up at Cabrillo College where I went through my routine of push-ups, ab exercises, and stretching. By the time I started the jog back home, I was able to sprint… no pain, no aches, it was all good!

It was like the Lord was saying to me, “Bill, 56 isn’t so bad. And I’ve still got lots of life left for you, and in you!”

    It was a blessing.

Thanks for your ongoing love and friendship.
