Is It Crazy to Think That These Are the Last Days?

end-timesI’ve been thinking:

Israel came very close to bombing Iran, which have become allies with Russia. This is remarkably similar to the scenario described in Ezekiel 38-39.

The threat of international internet related crime is grave and very real. Entire countries can be brought to their knees in a matter of minutes. The only solution is to impose international control over the internet, which will mean an even greater centralization of power. This jives with the idea of an international dictatorship under the man of sin.

Worldwide economic conditions are such that the only solution making sense to world leaders is the globalization of the world’s economies. A one-world economy will be the economy of the antichrist. See Revelation 13.

The call to merge the world’s religions is becoming louder and louder. Increasingly, religions are viewed as being the same. Syncretism has replaced the search for and study of what is objectively true. The harlot will be a syncretistic religious system. The harlot will be the religion of antichrist in the first half of his seven year tenure. See Revelation 17-18.

Technology has given us a common language, for the first time since the tower of Babel. Now nothing will be withheld from what mankind proposes to do.Babel is being reversed for the first time. A common humanism is what is now, and what will be in the future. “Glory to man in the highest” is humanism’s cry. There is no room for God in that worldview.

Any problem facing mankind today has become a global problem, many of which seem to have no solution. Aids, poverty, war, famine, malnutrition, crime, murder, climate changes, deforestation, pollution, currency devaluation, trade imbalance; no matter what is named, there is no way to solve it.“Men’s hearts failing them from fear and the expectation of those things which are coming on the earth, for the powers of heaven will be shaken.” (Luke 21:26)

I could go on and on… in answer to the opening question, it’s crazy to not think that these are the last days. Of course, I’m talking about the thinking of those who respect the Bible and believe in the reality of Bible prophecy.

Jesus told His disciples “And now I have told you before it comes, that when it does come to pass, you may believe” (John 14:29). His predictions to His men were for the purpose of increasing their faith. So it is for us today.

“Now when these things begin to happen, look up and lift up your heads, because your redemption draws near” (Luke 21:28).

No, it’s not crazy to think we’re in the last days. It’s our blessed hope, it clears our mind to understand these things, and it provides tremendous motivation to live a godly life.

John 14:1-3 “Let not your heart be troubled; you believe in God, believe also in Me. In My Father’s house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also.”

Titus 2:13 …looking for the blessed hope and glorious appearing of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ…

1 Thessalonians 4:16-18 For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And thus we shall always be with the Lord. Therefore comfort one another with these words.

1 Peter 1:13 Therefore gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and rest your hope fully upon the grace that is to be brought to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ…

Ephesians 6:17a …and take the helmet of salvation…

1 Thessalonians 5:8b …but let us who are of the day be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love, and as a helmet the hope of salvation.

1 John 3:2-3 Beloved, now we are children of God; and it has not yet been revealed what we shall be, but we know that when He is revealed, we shall be like Him, for we shall see Him as He is. And everyone who has this hope in Him purifies himself, just as He is pure.

What we really need to do in these last days is trust the Lord, believe His Word, and live for Him, full-on.

Thanks for reading.

Bill

It is so refreshing, and exciting, to hear a pastor speak firmly about the fact that we are in the end times. It is SO EASY to be swayed by this world’s message that what we ought to be doing is eat, drink and be merry…. and live as comfortably as we can, etc.

I so look forward to His coming, I almost trip for not watching where I walk. And yet I know I also ought to be attentive while on my “watch” at this time in history… and do all I can to be about my Father’s business.

Thank you for delineating specifically in what sense we are in the last days… I’m always looking for ways to clearly communicate the seriousness of the days we are in to the unbelievers in my family…

I also greatly appreciate that last sentence. His Blessings to you and Sheri.

    Hi Bill,

I agree totally it is crazy not to believe… for people who have lived in the midst of war, and mass killing, and insane dictatorships over the history of man the world today would seem just as insane as ever, but for whose of us who have lived in a castle on the top of the hill the insanity has always seemed far away and “over there.”

Now it has crept up the hill and I believe our country is ready to buy even more into socialism and globalization and to reject God completely and buy into one world leader (messiah) a humanistic / humanitarian savior.

It’s time to look again closely at what God has prophesied and be prepared.

    Thanks.

    Blessings to you and Sheri

    Vince

    Hi Bill,
Some months back around when Washington Mutual was bought out by Chase and everyone was freaking out, on the internet there was a bunch of financial analists predicting our nation’s financial future, letting us know what was ahead in the next 3 to 5 years and then 10 years from now…

One analist said that in the next 3 to 5 years you will see banks fail to where we will end up having one “national” bank….everyone’s money will be in one bank and things will funtion somewhat normally….

Then he said that we have to take into account that there are banks failing all over the world… so the financial prediction was that in approx. 10 years that the world would have to come together globally to secure our finances and we will be operating out of a “one world bank”.

The panel of analist basically assured the national public that our money would always be secure even if we had to operate out of a one world bank. They were all extremely positive that as long as you were still working and depositing money in the bank you will still be able to funtion normally during all these transitions.

Wow, huh? So, I totally agree with you!:) It’s not crazy at all to think we’re in the last days. What was prophesied in Rev. 13 is now a very strong reality! Banks are failing FAST! I mean, just 3 months ago the media was saying Bank of America was one of the most secure banks in our nation and now it’s at the bottom of the list of “secure banks”.

Thanks for the verses of preparation for living in these times…very comforting…also, for the exhortation to live FULL-ON for Christ. In these times it’s easy to become afraid and weary.

    In Christ,
    Kathleen

Great comments, Kathleen. Insightful, and real. I’m so glad you’re watching!

Amen, Pastor Vince. We’re living in troubling times, as Paul warned us about. “Watch and pray,” Jesus told us. Thanks for the feedback.
